Endometriosis


What is Endometriosis?
Endometriosis is caused during menstruation when the lining of the uterus sheds the endometrium tissue and which stays retained in the body.  The tissue will abnormally implant around the outside of the uterus.  The implants can spread on other organs such as the bladder, bowels and ovaries.  The tissues can develop scarring and invasive nodules.

painful menstruation
chronic pelvic pain
irregular vaginal bleeding
pain during intercourse
fatigue and bloating
ovarian cysts
gastrointestinal cramping
frequent urination
low energy
lower back pain
miscarriage

Facts
One hundred seventy six million women and girls suffer from endometriosis.
There are eight point two million females suffering from this chronic disease in North America.
Twenty seven is the average age a women is diagnosed with endometriosis.
Endometriosis is misdiagnosed as Pelvic Inflammatory Disease.
Endometriosis causes most infertility in women.
